Essential Oils Safety Guidelines

HAZARD IDENTIFICATIONS:

Potential Health Effects. This product has no specific health hazard data exists. OSHA requires that one should assume such mixtures present the same health hazards as do any components present in amounts greater than 1% (0.1% for carcinogens). The formula for this product is a trade secret. One or more of the components may pose the following health effects:

Possible Routes of Exposure: Skin and eye, ingestion, inhalation

Target Organs: Possible lung problems associated with oil mists.

Acute Effects: If product is irritating to an individual he or she should discontinue its use. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, and vomiting. Exposure to oil mists can cause eye, skin, and upper respiratory tract irritation as well as central nervous system effects; if exposures are excessive, headaches, dizziness, and drowsiness may result.

Chronic Effects: None anticipated; if product is irritating to an individual he or she should discontinue its use. May aggravate existing skin, eye, or respiratory in sensitive individuals.

FIRST AID MEASURES:

Inhalation: In case of excessive inhalation remove the person to fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position. Obtain medical advice immediately

Eye Contact: Rinse the eyes immediately with plenty of water for at least ten minutes. If any sign of tissue damage or persistent irritation is apparent, obtain medical advice immediately.

Skin Contact: Wash affected areas thoroughly with water (and mild soap if available). Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Ingestion: The substance may cause lung damage if swallowed- do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately.

HANDLING AND STORAGE:

Handling Precautions: Handle in accordance with good occupational Handle and safety practices in a well ventilated area. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Depending on working conditions, this may include wearing of eye protection and protective clothing such as PVC glove.

Storage: Store in full, dry, airtight containers away from sources of heat and light.

Inhalation: If respiratory irritation occurs remove to fresh air. Encourage patient to blow nose to clear breathing passages.

Eye Contact: Immediately hold the eyes open and flush with fresh running water for at least 15 minutes. Ensure irrigation under the eyelids by occasionally lifting upper and lower lids. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Skin Contact: Wash affected areas thoroughly with water (and mild soap if available). Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. Observe the patient carefully. If he or she appears drowsy do not give any fluids. Otherwise, give water or milk to rinse out mouth. Then gradually provide liquids, giving as much as patient can comfortably drink.

Mix e.o into the bath tub

Mix e.o in the the water beforehand and throw on to the heat source as usual.

Shower




Maximum 8 drops

Add e.o to face cloth or sponge and rub it over yourself briskly as you continue to stand under running water

Foot Bath


2-6 drops

Soak the feet for twenty minutes in a bowl of warm water

Use plant sprayer. Put in warm water and add the e.o and shake before use.

Put boiling water into a bowl and add the e.o. close the doors and windows and allow 5 minutes for the aroma to permeate the room

Potpourri

Put your potpourri collection in a bowl and add the e.o. Let the aroma permeate the room

RAW MATERIAL SUPPLY:

In order to have enough and continuously supply of raw material, TBESB has done some contract farming with government agencies and individual who are capable and have strength in financial aspect. Currently we have practiced INTERGRATION SYSTEM where our contract farmers will growth planting material which originated from tissue culture techniques. This planting material will be supplied by Invitro Tech Sdn. Bhd. Our company will buy back the material from the farmers. Therefore, this system will provide win-win situation to the plant supplier, farmer and approximately our company. This system will promise the continuity and reliable supply of raw material.

The company has a well equipped manufacturing unit with state-of-the-art technology. The various unit operations are carried out using mechanized technology, eliminating human handling operations to a great extent. This ensures uniformity in production, avoid contamination and affirms reproducibility and consistency of products from batch to batch.

The production facility contains steam distillation with capacity 200kg per day, multipurpose extractor, water extractor, spray dryer, oven dryer, milling, blending and bottling equipment.
